Role overview
University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is hiring two proactive Health and Safety Officers to join its Health and Safety Team. The team is focused on strengthening the Trust’s Health and Safety Strategy, supporting frontline colleagues to provide safe, effective, and high-quality care, and promoting a culture of continual improvement.
This position plays a key role in shaping and rolling out the Trust’s Health and Safety Policy and related procedures. It also involves helping design and introduce a new health and safety management system, delivering training to a broad range of staff, and giving expert advice on health and safety considerations for capital project planning.
Applications are also welcome for a developmental role starting at Band 5, supported by structured objectives and an agreed action plan.
What the role involves
The postholder will support multiple departments across the Trust, helping teams understand, manage, and reduce health and safety risks within the assigned portfolio. The role requires close collaboration with Health and Safety Services Managers and stakeholders at all levels to review performance, identify priorities for risk reduction, and contribute to annual health and safety plans for the Trust and CMGs.
