Job description
Overview
This role invites experienced Nurses, Occupational Therapists, or Social Workers eager to advance their clinical careers or experience a new professional environment within a busy Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). The position involves contributing to a specialist team focused on autism and ADHD evaluations for children aged 5 to 17 years and 9 months, located in Buckinghamshire.
Team Approach and Values
The team has developed an innovative assessment model built around neuro-affirmative principles which views neurodiversity as a strength. Designed in collaboration with families and young people, this approach centers the family throughout the assessment process, uses strength-focused language, and strives for transparency about what families can anticipate from the service. The model is currently being integrated within the team with ongoing review and reflection.
Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of occupational therapists, psychologists, paediatricians, nurses, and social workers to perform neurodevelopmental assessments.
- Support and learn within a nurturing environment offering structured induction to build assessment skills and confidence.
- Contribute positive energy and enthusiasm aligned with a neuro-affirmative approach that recognizes differences as strengths.
