Overview
The Assistant Human Resources Manager supports the daily functions of the HR department, including recruitment, compensation management, training, and employee development. The role aids in delivering HR services that uphold employee satisfaction and contribute to business goals, while ensuring adherence to relevant laws and organizational policies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supports recruitment and hiring activities by interviewing HR candidates, maintaining recruitment contacts, attending job fairs, and networking with local groups to source qualified candidates.
- Assists with administering employee benefits, including collaborating with unemployment service providers, managing claims, and representing the company during hearings.
- Facilitates employee development efforts by coordinating orientation programs, ensuring cross-training, and promoting participation in training to foster workforce readiness.
- Maintains effective employee communication, assists with disciplinary documentation, addresses employee concerns through an open-door approach, and partners with Loss Prevention on investigations.
- Supports compliance and legal practices by managing employee records, ensuring confidentiality of medical files, facilitating drug testing programs, communicating policies through handbooks and meetings, and overseeing workers' compensation claim processes.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum education: High school diploma or GED with at least two years of experience in HR, management operations, or a related field.
- Alternatively, candidates with a two-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related disciplines are eligible without prior work experience.
