About the Role

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an experienced operational leader to head the Social Work and Social Care services within the Oxfordshire and Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) Mental Health Directorate. This full-time position focuses on transformational leadership in a Trust recognized for its collaborative and compassionate mental health care. The role involves shaping future mental health provisions by guiding strategic change, empowering multidisciplinary teams, and influencing policy development consistent with both local and national priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage social work and social care service delivery across all age groups, community, and inpatient settings within the directorate.
  • Ensure governance and compliance across quality, safety, finance, HR, and performance metrics.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to improve mental health outcomes through partnership working with the health, social care, and voluntary sectors.
  • Oversee domains including quality assurance, workforce development, financial management, performance monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintain adherence to the Care Quality Commission's five core domains: safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led services.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven substantial experience in operational leadership within a mental health social work setting.
  • Expertise in applied social work practices, enhanced legal knowledge, and the ability to manage complex individual and systemic challenges.
  • Strong adaptability and partnership-building skills with a commitment to advancing mental health care across sectors.
