Part-time School Health Care Assistant

About the Role

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust seeks an organized and committed individual to join its 0-19 Children's Public Health Service as a School Health Care Assistant. The position involves working within the screening team to support children's health and wellbeing across Oxfordshire by implementing the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme. This role focuses on administering the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP), vision screening, and assisting with Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) activities in diverse educational environments.

Working Conditions

The role is part-time for 30 hours weekly during school term times at Didcot, covering South West and South East Oxfordshire. The suggested working hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; however, the schedule can be adapted to meet the needs of both the candidate and the service.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform vision and child measurement screenings in primary schools following the standardized protocols.
• Coordinate with schools to organize screening schedules and appointments.
• Maintain precise records and documentation relating to screening results.
• Report concerns appropriately and seek necessary assistance.
• Assist the locality team with broader public health duties as needed.
