Position Summary
The Senior Director, CEO Communications, collaborates closely with the VP of Corporate Communications to develop and implement an integrated communication strategy for the CEO. This role translates corporate priorities into clear messaging and ensures the CEO's voice is consistently conveyed across key internal and external engagements. Responsible for advancing CEO communications initiatives, the Senior Director works closely with the CEO, Chief of Staff, and Leadership Team, focusing on prepared remarks and engagement messaging while coordinating with Media Relations for media strategy.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the VP to develop CEO communications strategies aligned with enterprise goals.
- Create clear, actionable communication plans and oversee their consistent execution for CEO engagements.
- Manage end-to-end planning and delivery of CEO communications on various platforms ensuring alignment and impact.
- Lead specific CEO communication projects such as thought leadership platforms and internal engagement events.
- Produce and oversee compelling CEO content including speeches, town halls, and remarks for external events.
- Ensure messaging clarity, coherence, and alignment with the enterprise narrative and priorities.
- Maintain consistent CEO tone and positioning across channels and audiences.
- Support CEO preparation for external engagements, including speeches and talking points for non-media settings.
- Work closely with Media Relations to synchronize CEO remarks with wider external communication strategies.
- Coordinate with Chief of Staff and senior leaders to align CEO communications with business priorities.
- Foster collaboration across Corporate Affairs and other functions to integrate enterprise messaging.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders to enhance messaging and storytelling.
Qualifications Required
- Extensive experience advising senior executives and working with C-suite leaders.
- Proven ability as a strategic partner influencing messaging and engaging senior stakeholders.
- Strong executive presence with sound judgment in high-profile, complex environments.
- Excellent executive-level writing and storytelling skills for high-impact communication moments.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, or related fields.
- Minimum 15 years progressive experience in corporate or executive communications within large complex organizations.
- At least 4 years in senior leadership roles with direct advisory duties at executive level.
- Demonstrated proficiency in crafting and executing CEO or C-suite communication strategies for diverse audiences.
- Experience preparing impactful executive materials such as speeches, talking points, and leadership communications.
- Strong history of managing sensitive communications with discretion and sound judgment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills capturing authentic executive voice.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Media Relations, Legal, Government Affairs, and other enterprise teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree such as MBA or master's in communications.
- Background in biopharmaceutical, life sciences, or healthcare sectors.
- Experience with global communication environments and diverse stakeholder engagement.
- Track record supporting CEO or enterprise-level thought leadership and external positioning strategies.

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this full-time role based in Princeton, NJ is $213,690 to $258,942 annually. Additional incentive bonuses and stock options may apply based on eligibility. Compensation reflects job requirements, skills, experience, and location.
