Role Overview
The National Weekly Benefits Specialist plays a pivotal role within the national performance team by ensuring precise, consistent, and compliant management of weekly benefit entitlements across multiple jurisdictions for a significant nationally self-insured client. This includes overseeing weekly benefit calculations, guaranteeing PIAWE (Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings) accuracy, legislative adherence, and uniform entitlement decisions across Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer technical leadership in PIAWE and weekly benefit calculations for a national self-insured client.
- Evaluate complex remuneration and employment situations according to jurisdictional rules.
- Provide expert advice to claims teams regarding entitlement decisions and legislative interpretations.
- Manage quality assurance and remediation processes, pinpoint issues, and supervise corrective measures.
- Serve as an escalation resource for intricate entitlement and payroll issues involving claims teams and client stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience in workers’ compensation or technical claims, with strong familiarity with PIAWE and weekly benefits.
- In-depth understanding of multi-jurisdictional workers’ compensation systems and entitlement policies, especially within self-insurance.
- Demonstrated capacity to act as a technical authority influencing claims and stakeholder outcomes.
- Excellent analytical skills emphasizing meticulous attention to detail in complex calculation contexts.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities across operational and client environments.

Additional Information
This is a permanent position offering flexibility to be based in Sydney, Parramatta, Brisbane, Adelaide, or Perth, with the option to work remotely up to three days a week.
