Role Overview

The National Weekly Benefits Specialist is a vital member of the national performance team responsible for ensuring accurate, consistent, and compliant management of weekly benefit entitlements across multiple Australian jurisdictions, supporting a large nationally self-insured client. This role involves oversight of weekly benefit calculations, guaranteeing PIAWE accuracy, adherence to relevant legislation, and uniform entitlement determination specifically across Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical supervision over PIAWE and weekly benefit computations for a nationally self-insured client.
  • Analyze complex remuneration and employment scenarios ensuring alignment with jurisdiction-specific requirements.
  • Offer expert advice to claims teams regarding entitlement decisions and the interpretation of legislation.
  • Lead quality assurance and remediation processes, identifying issues and managing corrective measures.
  • Serve as the escalation contact for intricate entitlement and payroll concerns involving claims and client stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

  • Significant experience in workers’ compensation or technical claims, specifically with PIAWE and weekly benefits.
  • In-depth understanding of multi-jurisdictional workers’ compensation frameworks, emphasizing self-insurance.
  • Proven capacity to function as a technical authority influencing claim resolutions and stakeholder interactions.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail in complex calculation contexts.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills spanning operational and client teams.
