Job description
About the club
Westfield FC was established in 1950 and has been a fixture in its local football community for over 75 years. The club currently plays in the 8th tier of English football and is supported by an ambitious investor group focused on creating a sustainable, community-led organization with strong long-term growth prospects.
The club’s vision is to progress through the English football pyramid and, in time, reach the English Football League through careful investment, effective leadership, and active community involvement. Westfield FC also takes part in FA Cup and FA Trophy qualifying fixtures each season, offering the chance to compete on a national stage while building success both on and off the field.
Role overview
Westfield FC is looking for experienced professionals, entrepreneurs, sports leaders, investors, and football supporters to join its Board of Advisors. The role is designed for people who can help raise the club’s profile, grow its network, identify strategic opportunities, and contribute to its long-term development.
The club is particularly interested in advisors based in Ireland who can represent Westfield FC and support its presence in their local market and network.
Responsibilities
- Represent and advocate for Westfield FC within your professional and personal circles.
- Connect the club with potential sponsors, commercial collaborators, investors, and other useful relationships.
- Offer strategic input on growth, marketing, fundraising, sponsorship, and community-focused initiatives.
- Support brand-building and revenue-generating efforts when relevant.
- Take part in occasional advisory meetings and share feedback on key priorities.
Preferred profile
The ideal candidate has a strong interest in football and the wider sports business, along with experience as a business leader, entrepreneur, investor, advisor, or executive. A well-developed professional network that can help support club growth is important.
Interest in sports investment, football operations, sponsorship, or community development is also valued, as are strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
Compensation and benefits
This advisory position is offered as sweat equity, tied to the advisor’s contribution and the club’s future success. In return, advisors gain the opportunity to influence the club’s strategic direction, work closely with the ownership group, expand their football-industry network, and take part in an exciting sports investment journey.
Why this role may appeal to you
This is a chance to help shape a historic football club with a bold long-term ambition. Inspired by the idea of building something similar to well-known football revival stories, the club aims to become a sustainable, community-centered organization that rises through the English football pyramid and eventually reaches the English Football League.
If you want to contribute to the future of a football club from within while sharing in its long-term growth, this is a distinctive opportunity.
Equal opportunity
Westfield FC is committed to maintaining a diverse, inclusive, and respectful environment. The organization does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, genetic information, or any other protected characteristic under applicable law.
Selection is based on qualifications, merit, business requirements, and the candidate’s ability to support the advisory responsibilities.
