About the Company
Westfield FC, established in 1950, has served its local football community for over 75 years. The club currently competes in the 8th tier of English football and is supported by a group of investors focused on creating a sustainable, community-led organization with strong long-term growth prospects. The club’s aim is to progress through the English football pyramid and, eventually, reach the English Football League through thoughtful investment, effective leadership, and active community involvement. Each season, Westfield FC also takes part in FA Cup and FA Trophy qualifying rounds, creating opportunities to build the club’s profile on a national platform while pursuing success on and off the field.
Role Overview
Westfield FC is looking for experienced professionals, entrepreneurs, sports executives, investors, and football followers to serve on its Board of Advisors. In this position, advisors will help increase the club’s visibility, broaden its network, spot strategic opportunities, and contribute to the club’s long-term development. This is a chance to support an ambitious ownership group working to create a club with lasting success for future generations.
The club is also especially interested in advisors based in New Zealand who can represent and support Westfield FC in that market and through their local networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent Westfield FC and raise awareness of the club within your professional and personal circles.
- Connect the club with possible sponsors, commercial collaborators, investors, and strategic contacts.
- Offer input on club expansion, marketing, fundraising, commercial partnerships, and community engagement.
- Where suitable, assist with initiatives that build revenue and strengthen the club’s brand.
- Join occasional advisory discussions and share feedback on important priorities.
Preferred Background
- Genuine interest in football and the commercial side of sport.
- Prior experience as a business leader, founder, investor, advisor, or senior executive.
- A robust professional network that could support the club’s growth.
- Interest in sports investment, football operations, sponsorship, or community development.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships.
Compensation & Benefits
This advisory position is compensated through sweat equity, with value tied to the advisor’s contribution and the long-term success of Westfield FC. Advisors may also help shape the club’s strategic direction, work closely with the ownership group, grow their network in the football industry, and take part in a compelling football investment journey.
Why Join Westfield FC
Join an ambitious ownership group building a historic club with an expansive long-term vision. Inspired by stories such as Welcome to Wrexham, the objective is to develop a sustainable, community-focused team that can move up the English football pyramid and ultimately reach the English Football League. For anyone who has wanted to influence the future of a football club from within while sharing in its long-term success, this offers a distinctive opportunity.
Equal Opportunity Statement
Westfield FC is committed to equal opportunity and works to maintain a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace. Decisions are made without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, genetic information, or any other protected characteristic under applicable law.
Selection is guided by qualifications, merit, business requirements, and the candidate’s ability to contribute to the advisory role.
