Position Overview

This opportunity, shared on behalf of a partnering organization based in the United States, invites candidates to join as a Medical Science Liaison. This role plays a pivotal part in advancing personalized medicine and cancer treatment by bridging the gap between scientific developments and clinical applications. The successful candidate will act as a reliable scientific partner to healthcare professionals, delivering expert knowledge on genomic testing and disease insights, fostering relationships with key opinion leaders, and supporting clinical research and innovative diagnostic tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture robust connections with academic and community healthcare providers to promote understanding and acceptance of genomic diagnostic technologies.
  • Act as a scientific and clinical authority, delivering compliant and precise medical information to healthcare providers and internal teams.
  • Identify and collaborate with key opinion leaders, assisting in investigator-initiated studies from inception through publication.
  • Present tailored scientific information through educational sessions and clinical discussions to external healthcare audiences.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including medical affairs, R&D, managed care, sales, and marketing to support product strategy and enhancements.
  • Analyze scientific literature and simplify complex clinical findings into accessible educational materials.
  • Contribute to real-world evidence projects by gathering clinical insights and supporting research on clinical utility.
  • Provide scientific information that supports market access and reimbursement efforts.
  • Attend conferences, gather field intelligence, and relay key scientific developments to leadership.
  • Enhance internal knowledge through medical updates, journal clubs, and educational sessions.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a scientific or clinical discipline such as Ph.D., M.D., Pharm.D., or D.O.
  • At least 5 years of experience in clinical or industrial roles, preferably centered on oncology or diagnostic fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical research, genomic medicine, disease biology, and publication processes.
  • Prior experience as a Medical Science Liaison, especially involving novel diagnostic technologies, is highly advantageous.
  • Strong capability to interpret and communicate intricate scientific and clinical data effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the adaptability to meet healthcare providers' needs.
  • Collaborative mindset with a demonstrated ability to work with multifaceted teams.
  • Client-focused orientation with a dedication to enhancing patient healthcare outcomes.
  • Understanding of statistical analysis and clinical data interpretation.
  • Highly organized with the ability to independently manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (around 60%) within the assigned territory; close proximity to a major airport is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary ranging from $160,000 to $196,000 depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
