Job description
Role overview
In this position, you will be part of the Artist & Label Partnerships organization, working with important labels, artists, managers, and distributors to shape and deliver initiatives that support frontline partners. You’ll coordinate closely with the Music Partnerships & Audience group on local strategies and with international teammates on worldwide campaigns, while using those relationships to advance Spotify’s marketing and partnership goals in ways that benefit both Spotify and its industry partners.
Spotify is looking for someone who genuinely loves indie music, has a track record of leading partner relationships, and can juggle multiple priorities while building and running sophisticated campaigns. This person will act as a main contact for several major partners across the independent music space.
This role is based in Los Angeles and reports to the Lead, Indie Partnerships & Programs.
What you'll be responsible for
- Serve as an external representative for Spotify with label partners, managers, artists, and other music-industry contacts, looking for ways to strengthen relationships and create shared value.
- Track artist, label, and culture-related priorities, then work with internal teams to uncover where Spotify can contribute through both on-platform and off-platform efforts.
- Work directly with labels and distributors to shape and run priority campaigns, including planning, briefing, launch coordination, measurement, and post-campaign review.
- Create strong internal partnerships and advocate for partner needs across the company.
- Team up with internal groups to build educational programs and represent Spotify in partner meetings, industry gatherings, and presentations.
- Guide and support teammates by sharing knowledge in campaign planning, relationship management, and cross-functional work.
- Bring forward industry insights that can help shape product direction, partnership strategy, and broader business priorities.
- Champion the needs of independent labels, artists, and distributors both inside and outside the company.
What we're looking for
- At least 5 years of experience leading marketing work, partnership programs, account management, or demanding cross-functional projects.
- Background in the music industry, such as labels, artist management, distribution, streaming, or a closely related area.
- Strong understanding of the independent music ecosystem, including the key organizations, trends, opportunities, and challenges affecting it.
- A proven ability to build trusted relationships with a broad mix of stakeholders and partners.
- Clear and effective communication skills across audiences and seniority levels.
- Excellent organization and the ability to manage several priorities without losing attention to detail.
- Comfort working through ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- A collaborative style and the ability to bring different teams together around common goals.
- Good judgment, initiative, curiosity, and a practical, solutions-focused approach to problems.
- Strong passion for music and ongoing awareness of emerging artists, genres, and cultural trends.
- Willingness to travel and attend occasional evening and weekend industry events.
Location and work setup
This position is located in Los Angeles, CA. The role follows a flexible hybrid arrangement, with some in-person meetings and the expectation to work from the office about 2 to 3 times each week.
