About the Role

Join Spotify's Advertising Product & Technology team to develop a cutting-edge advertising platform tailored for audio and video experiences. This role focuses on scaling user engagement for millions of fans and thousands of advertisers, supporting Spotify's vision to empower artists and connect brands with listeners through impactful ad experiences. As Spotify Advertising globally expands with a performance-driven and AI-powered approach, design is crucial in simplifying complex systems, enhancing advertiser trust, and fostering scalable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create comprehensive user experiences for Spotify's self-serve advertising platform (Ads Manager), including ad creation, audience targeting, performance reporting, optimization, and measurement tools.
  • Contribute to and maintain a shared design system emphasizing component reuse, accessibility, and visual consistency across Ads Manager and internal applications.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to translate backend APIs, machine learning features, and complex data into accessible, efficient interfaces.
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, data scientists, researchers, and content designers to guide product strategy and advocate for user-centric design decisions.
  • Develop prototypes utilizing real data and motion to explore technical limitations, validate interaction patterns, and demonstrate dynamic product features.
  • Work with researchers and data scientists to identify crucial user questions and utilize insights to deepen problem understanding.
  • Support design initiatives for internal operational tools aimed at reducing manual work and enhancing workflow efficiency and reliability.
  • Encourage a team culture focused on constructive feedback, iterative improvement, and design excellence.

Candidate Profile

  • Experienced in designing intricate, data-heavy B2B digital products with approximately 3+ years of relevant experience, valuing quality and depth of work.
  • Ability to manage design quality across multiple features and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong foundation in visual design, with keen attention to details that elevate functionality to high-quality experiences.
  • Skilled in aligning design decisions with business objectives and customer needs and communicating these clearly with stakeholders.
  • Curiosity and engagement with AI technologies, including integrating AI tools into design workflows or designing AI-driven features.
  • Comfortable with uncertainty, demonstrating structured problem-solving and inquisitiveness in ambiguous and technical domains.
  • Active in seeking and providing thoughtful feedback, fostering inclusive collaboration by inviting diverse perspectives.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with advertising or monetization tools, creative automation, operational tooling, internal user workflows, and contribution to large-scale design systems.

Work Location and Schedule

This position is onsite in New York, NY, within the North America region, with collaboration primarily conducted across the Eastern time zone.

Compensation and Benefits

The US salary range for this role is $119,424 to $170,606 annually, complemented by equity. Benefits include health insurance, six months of paid parental leave, a 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowances, 23 paid days off, and 13 paid flexible holidays. Job leveling is based on relevant experience and interview evaluation, impacting placement and compensation within this range.
