About the Role
The Department of Housing and Public Works is looking for an inspiring and strategic leader to head the Departmental Liaison Office (DLO). This role requires fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and high performance while ensuring effective communication between the Minister's office, the Director-General, and various departmental divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the department's strategic vision and priorities by delivering effective advice and maintaining open communication with the ministerial office and relevant stakeholders.
- Offer strategic, consistent, and timely counsel on sensitive, urgent, or confidential issues to both the Minister's Office and the Director-General.
- Collaborate with divisional managers to provide authoritative support and information that aligns with the department’s strategic goals for ministerial briefing.
- Manage and integrate information and briefings from internal and external sources to equip the Director-General, Minister, and ministerial staff with consolidated advice and recommendations, keeping abreast of developments within the department's portfolio.
- Lead the development, execution, and continual review of strategies, policies, and protocols that effectively support the Minister, ministerial staff, and the Director-General.
- Oversee the unit’s operations by fostering a professional culture that encourages commitment, ethical conduct, employee wellbeing, skills enhancement, and ongoing organizational improvement.
