We have an exciting opportunity for a Locum Appointment of Service in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) focused on supporting our out-of-hours service. The successful candidate will join a specialist team composed of three Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery consultants, two Orthodontics consultants, one Restorative Dentistry visiting consultant, and eight ENT surgeons forming the Head and Neck Directorate.
The OMFS specialty operates within the Surgical Services Directorate as part of Acute Services, providing comprehensive treatment and healthcare coverage for a regional population of approximately 388,000 people. This position is located at University Hospital Crosshouse in Kilmarnock, Scotland.
Key Duties and Commitments
- Primarily contribute to the out-of-hours service with a rota commitment of one in five weekday nights and one in six weekends.
- Deliver expert care across multiple sub-specialties including dentoalveolar surgery, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, head and neck oncology, facial skin cancer, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disease, and implantology.
Additional Information
- This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months with the possibility of extension beyond the initial period.
- The post is strictly for out-of-hours work as described.
