About The Role and Function

MakeMyTrip is a leading and rapidly expanding division known for delivering exceptional travel experiences to millions of customers yearly. Within the Hotels team, the focus is on leveraging technology and strong partnerships to manage a diverse portfolio of domestic and international accommodations spanning leisure and business destinations. The Domestic Chains team, part of the Domestic Hotel Supply Function, specifically handles business growth and supply management for premier Indian branded hotel chains such as IHCL (Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta & Ginger), ITC, Leela, Sarovar, among others, with contracts covering over 1000 hotels nationwide.

Role Overview

The Key Account Manager plays a vital role within the Domestic Chains segment by taking full ownership of driving growth through proactive engagement with revenue heads of these chains. This position requires close coordination with internal teams—category, revenue management, and marketing—to implement business strategies effectively and maintain strong external partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining relationships with C-level executives of key chain hotels, managing sustainable performance across assigned accounts.
  • Providing partners with industry-standard insights, metrics, analyses, and strategic recommendations.
  • Traveling frequently, spending approximately 50% of time onsite within local markets to meet decision-makers and support business goals.
  • Reviewing monthly production data and delivering feedback to high-performing hotels, organizing market visits and review meetings both virtually and in person.
  • Training partner hotels on extranet usage to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Generating reports and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and ensuring optimal inventory levels and pricing competitiveness throughout the year.
  • Negotiating and closing deals with hotel partners, initiating marketing strategies and exclusive sponsorship campaigns to maximize competitive advantage.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree from a reputable institution.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in sales, travel trade, key account management, contracting, or B2B sales roles.
  • Experience managing multiple partner accounts preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint is essential.
