Role Overview
The Assistant Manager will spearhead sales efforts for short-haul and domestic travel, ensuring seamless end-to-end customer service. Responsibilities include leading a team of Holiday Experts, liaising with suppliers, and maintaining exemplary service standards across various destinations. By balancing strategic leadership with operational management, the role aims to boost customer satisfaction, strengthen supplier connections, and solidify MakeMyTrip's position in domestic holiday sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations for short-haul and domestic travel across multiple locations.
- Ensure prompt resolution of queries, provide accurate quotations and bookings, and maintain continuous customer support throughout the travel lifecycle.
- Monitor service quality and handle escalated issues related to flights, accommodation, visas, and ground services efficiently.
- Coordinate with suppliers, airlines, and internal teams to guarantee smooth holiday package execution.
- Track team metrics against KPIs such as turnaround time, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction scores.
- Identify operational gaps and propose enhancements to improve efficiency and customer experience.
- Offer training, coaching, and ongoing support to the team to enhance product knowledge and service excellence.
- Ensure strict adherence to corporate policies, travel regulations, and financial protocols.
- Drive the sales team to meet or exceed revenue goals and support business expansion.
Qualifications and Experience
A postgraduate degree from a recognized institution is required, along with 4 to 8 years of experience in travel sales and operations.
Key Competencies
- Comprehensive knowledge of Global Distribution Systems such as Amadeus, Galileo, or Sabre, and other travel booking platforms.
- Strong communication, leadership capabilities, and adeptness in customer relationship management.
- Ability to handle pressure, manage escalations, and achieve targeted outcomes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
