About the Role

Join a vibrant and welcoming team of Employment Specialists dedicated to providing outstanding employment support to clients in Hounslow. This role is ideal for those who firmly believe in the ability of individuals with mental health challenges to engage in meaningful employment and want to contribute to their recovery journey.

Individual Placement & Support (IPS) is a globally recognized approach aimed at aiding people with Serious Mental Illness in returning to work, thereby enhancing their recovery and wellbeing. Recognized as a national priority, the IPS team is expanding and striving for top IPS fidelity standards. The team is dynamic, collaborative, and supportive, offering comprehensive induction and ongoing development opportunities to build professional competencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a client caseload of up to 25 individuals within the community, assisting them in determining preferred employment paths.
  • Support clients in enhancing confidence, preparing job applications including updating CVs, and applying for suitable positions.
  • Provide advice on benefit entitlements and liaise with potential employers to secure employment opportunities.
  • Develop return-to-work plans in collaboration with clients and offer continued support post-employment to navigate challenges.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of client interactions and progress.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with employers and community partners to optimize employment outcomes.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess flexibility, assertiveness, and adaptability with a constructive stance on inclusive employment.
  • Exhibit excellent networking and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Prior experience in employment support is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn new skills is vital.
  • Be confident and competent with IT, ensuring precise client record-keeping.
  • Demonstrate passion for working with individuals experiencing mental health issues.

Additional Information

The position operates across the Primary Care Network within the community. The Trust does not provide sponsorship for this vacancy, and previous unsuccessful applicants to the West London NHS IPS within the last six months are advised not to reapply.
