About the Role

This internship position supports the Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) sales and trading operations based in Singapore. The intern will aid in driving the efficiency and compliance of trading activities while fostering strong client relationships aligned with the company's sales strategy to generate revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a customer-centric culture to strengthen client engagement and leverage broader bank relationships and resources.
  • Contribute to maintaining a high-performance and inclusive workplace environment.
  • Ensure daily business operations comply effectively with the bank’s code of conduct, global sales principles, and regulatory requirements including operational, compliance, antimoney laundering, anti-terrorist financing, sanctions, and conduct risks.
  • Understand and consider the bank’s risk appetite and culture in everyday decision-making processes.
  • Assist in pricing and risk management while collaborating with sales staff to develop customer orders.
  • Support execution of trades and help senior traders in generating trade ideas to maximize trading profits, connecting the client base with the trading desk.
  • Develop and nurture new and existing client relationships, facilitating cross-selling across product groups and other bank areas.

Candidate Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accountancy, Business (Banking and Finance), Economics, or Computing.
  • Preferably students in their second year or beyond.
  • Ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading and sales environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent command of English writing.
  • Capability to multitask and handle pressure effectively.
  • Self-motivated, methodical thinker with logical, solution-oriented approach and business awareness.
  • Knowledge or interest in financial markets and FICC products is advantageous.

Learning Opportunities

  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of FICC products, financial markets, and industry operations.
  • Acquire exposure to banking regulations and compliance frameworks.
  • Understand banking processes and workflows extensively.
  • Opportunity to earn certifications such as Financial Market Regulatory & Practice and/or CMFAS.
  • Experience using Bloomberg and Reuters platforms.
  • Develop skills in understanding customer needs and supporting them effectively.
