Role Overview
Based at Victoria Park House in Kalgoorlie, this permanent hospitality role involves supporting the smooth operation of kitchen services for residents, focusing on food preparation, presentation, and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards. The position requires working morning shifts on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily kitchen duties including basic food preparation, meal plating, and ensuring portion sizes align with menus and dietary needs.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness through dishwashing, cleaning of equipment, and sanitizing surfaces according to food safety protocols.
- Support the meal service by delivering food to residents, arranging dining areas, and ensuring a positive mealtime experience.
- Monitor kitchen inventory, replenish stocks and supplies, and assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
- Follow strict infection control, workplace health and safety, and food handling regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with the Chef and hospitality team members to ensure efficient kitchen operation.

Qualifications and Requirements
- At least one year of experience in hospitality, preferably in a kitchen or food-service environment.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and safe food handling procedures.
- Capability to maintain cleanliness and organizational standards in a fast-paced environment.
- Good interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with residents, families, and co-workers.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Basic understanding of infection prevention and control measures relevant to aged care settings.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends, public holidays, and short-notice coverages.
