Role Overview
We are looking for a committed and meticulous Room Attendant to uphold the cleanliness and presentation of guest rooms, hallways, and designated areas at the highest level, in line with luxury hospitality standards. This position involves cleaning and servicing guest accommodations, restocking supplies, maintaining housekeeping tools, and ensuring adherence to the hotel's brand standards. The Room Attendant helps to craft an exceptional guest experience by keeping all guest and public areas spotless, comfortable, and safe, always reflecting our commitment to luxury service.
Key Duties
- Clean furniture such as chairs, sofas, and carpets in guest rooms and public spaces.
- Remove stubborn stains, including chewing gum, wax, wine, and coffee marks.
- Implement all company brand standards rigorously.
- Collaborate flexibly and supportively with other team members to enhance hotel success and guest satisfaction.
- Help cultivate a memorable guest environment that offers a distinct sense of place.
- Assist new housekeeping staff members as they acclimate to their roles.
- Address and resolve guest complaints and comments to ensure their satisfaction.
- Arrive at work maintaining proper appearance and presentation standards.
- Collect key cards and Duty Phone from the Housekeeping office at the start of the shift.
- Gather necessary cleaning equipment and notify the Floor Supervisor if any tools are missing, then begin cleaning departing rooms quietly to avoid disturbing guests.
- Keep noise to a minimum on guest floors, including soft door closing and low-volume conversations.
- Restore rooms that were previously turned down to daytime setup.
- Respect "Do not disturb" signs by not knocking or entering those rooms.
- Report to the Floor Supervisor items such as sleep-outs, additional departures, "Do not disturb" rooms, or rooms not needing service.
- Ensure all rooms meet Rosewood cleanliness and service standards.
- Maintain orderly and tidy trolleys and bicycles throughout the day.
- Keep public areas and corridors in pristine condition.
- Make extra beds and baby cots as necessary.
- Immediately report any guest laundry found in occupied rooms to housekeeping management.
- Remove private dining trays from guest rooms and corridors and place them in specified collection points.
- Empty vacuum cleaners and help tidy the storage area at the end of the day.
- Clean, restore, and store trolleys and bicycles before ending the shift and ensure paperwork is signed by the Floor Housekeeper.
- Return key cards and Duty Phone to the Housekeeping office at shift end and never lend them to others.
- Submit lost and found items directly to security following proper procedures.
- Handle gifts from guests only with signed guest authorization and security clearance before removal from hotel.
- Immediately report any lost keys or Duty Phone to housekeeping office.
- Alert Security Department promptly to any guest security concerns.
- Maintain housekeeping equipment in good working condition and report defects to the Floor Supervisor.
- Log any malfunctions in assigned areas through Unifocus (Knowcross) system.
- Ensure guestroom doors remain closed during cleaning and display the ‘Service’ card as needed.
- Prevent unauthorized access to guestrooms and assist guests with keycard issues, liaising with guest relations if necessary.
- Safeguard guest property and report suspicious individuals or activities to the Floor Supervisor.
- Maintain guest rooms according to Director of Housekeeping standards.
- Restock and replace missing guest room items, and perform inspections and cleaning according to departmental policies.
- Check minibar and guest room product expiry dates, removing and replacing expired items according to procedure.
