Shift Patterns
- Shift 1: Daily from 06:15 to 18:15
- Shift 2: Daily from 06:15 to 18:15
- Shift 3: Daily from 06:15 to 18:15
Responsibilities
- Perform regular patrols to detect suspicious activities and uphold hospital security
- Manage access points and verify identities to restrict unauthorized entries
- Use metal detectors (walk-through and handheld) to screen individuals per security protocols
- Give precise instructions while maintaining professionalism during security checks
- Maintain composure in stressful situations, including emergencies and high traffic periods
- Assist with patient safety tasks such as monitoring frequently missing or wandering patients
- Respond promptly to emergencies including Code White scenarios, fires, threats, and aggression
- Use de-escalation techniques and intervene to ensure a safe environment
- Inspect security devices like CCTV, panic buttons, and fire alarm systems regularly
- Keep detailed incident documentation and communicate effectively with hospital teams
- Collaborate with emergency services and law enforcement during critical incidents
Qualifications
- Authorized to work legally in Canada
- Possession or willingness to obtain a valid Saskatchewan Security Guard License (assistance provided)
- Clean criminal records check
- First Aid and CPR certification is an advantage
- Physical stamina to stand and walk throughout shifts
- Ability to work independently and maintain vigilance in a changing environment
- Excellent communication skills with strong conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities
- Capacity to remain calm under pressure and act efficiently in emergencies
- Professional attitude and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships
- Comfort and capability in using technology including CCTV; prior experience advantageous
- Experience in healthcare or hospital settings is beneficial
