Role Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Health Care Support Worker to become part of our Hospital at Home (H@H) service. This role involves delivering person-focused, high-quality care within patients’ own residences, working cohesively within a progressive community nursing team. Position Details

• Fixed-term, part-time position based at Borron Street, Glasgow
• Shift hours: Rotational shifts between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Sunday, without 12-hour shifts

Key Duties

• Provide direct personal care including hygiene, toileting, and assistance with daily living tasks
• Perform delegated clinical duties such as patient observations, simple wound dressings, specimen collection, and eye care
• Care for patients with complex needs within their home setting
• Observe and promptly report changes in patient conditions to registered staff members
• Maintain precise patient records and uphold confidentiality standards
• Support nursing team with stock management, equipment handling, and related tasks
• Foster compassionate relationships with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Qualifications and Experience

• Qualification at SVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or equivalent practical experience; willingness to work toward the qualification accepted
• Previous experience delivering care within healthcare or social care environments
• Capability to work confidently and autonomously as a lone worker
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written
• Possession of a full UK driving license and readiness to travel extensively within the service area
• Understanding of patient confidentiality, safety protocols, and professional conduct
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and adhere to clinical guidelines during emergencies
