About the Role
We are seeking compassionate, patient-focused Healthcare Assistants to join Shaston ward, a 15-bed facility specializing in rehabilitation and end-of-life care within our community hospital. This role demands excellent clinical and communication skills paired with a positive, can-do attitude. The position is for Band 3 Healthcare Assistants passionate about rehabilitation, frailty, and end-of-life care, eager to make a genuine difference as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team undergoing exciting service developments.
Successful candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK as visa sponsorship is not offered. Employment requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, at no cost to the candidate.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centered care ensuring patient privacy, dignity, and safety at all times.
- Provide planned care to assigned patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, following Trust protocols.
- Work effectively within a team, supporting and guiding less experienced staff and learners when necessary.
- Manage a specific group of patients under the indirect supervision of registered nurses, independently performing delegated tasks based on evidence-based and client-centered principles.
- Contribute to assessment, planning, implementation, and monitoring of patient care, escalating issues to senior staff as appropriate.
- Promote health and prevent illness, contributing actively to integrated care approaches.
- Carry out clinical tasks following standard operating procedures within the scope of the Healthcare Assistant role and after adequate training and competency validation.
