Role overview
Seven Oaks General Hospital is looking for a Health Care Aide to support the Rehab Geriatrics 4U8-12 unit in Winnipeg. This is an in-person temporary position with an 0.70 FTE schedule, with shifts that may include days, nights, and weekends.
Working within the policies, objectives, and procedures of the hospital program, you will support patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role also includes general cleaning and other tasks that help keep the unit safe and sanitary. Duties may vary depending on program needs. Protecting patient confidentiality is a required part of the job.

Responsibilities
- Help with assigned patient care tasks under RN supervision.
- Carry out cleaning and related duties to maintain a safe, clean environment.
- Adjust day-to-day duties based on the requirements of the program.
- Follow established policies, objectives, and procedures for the unit.
- Keep patient information confidential at all times.
Requirements
- At least 1 to 2 years of recent, relevant experience.
- Minimum education of Grade 10.
- Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized college, or completion of all required second-year Baccalaureate Nursing Program courses.
- BCLS and/or Heart Saver certification, including 2-man where required.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Clear communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Successful candidate must pass a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check.
- The candidate is responsible for any related service charges.
- Security check must be current, meaning obtained within 6 months before the start of employment.
- Interview candidates may be asked to complete a skills assessment.
- Employees cannot hold multiple roles within the WRHA legal entity if the total exceeds 1.0 EFT.
Schedule and terms
- Anticipated shift pattern includes days, nights, and weekends.
- Daily working time is 7.75 hours.
- Annual base hours are 2015.
- This indefinite term may end with one week's notice.

Compensation
The hourly pay scale for this role is $23.187, $23.867, $24.567, $25.290, $26.033, and $26.800.
