Overview
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Nursing Staff team at River Park Gardens. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients and residents, particularly those with intricate and unpredictable health challenges. The nurse will work in an evening shift, on-site, contributing to integrated healthcare delivery and fostering equitable patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver independent nursing services and carry out prescribed medical treatments.
- Lead within the healthcare team, supporting coordination of patient/resident care and discharge planning.
- Supervise nursing colleagues, students, healthcare aides, and other support staff in delivering patient care.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals both on-site and within the community.
- Uphold health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment, and report any safety incidents or concerns promptly.
Qualifications and Skills
- Graduate from an approved Registered Nursing education program.
- Possession of current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM), maintaining valid certification.
- CPR certification at the Targeted Responder Level is mandatory.
- Experience in care for chronic illness, geriatrics, and complex continuing care strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, nursing standards, ethics, facility policies, and health information privacy laws.
- Proficiency in critical thinking, effective communication (oral and written), and ability to prioritize and multi-task in demanding settings.
- Competence with computerized systems, including MDS and Care Organizer programs.
- Preference for candidates fluent in an Indigenous language or familiar with Indigenous traditions and values.
Additional Information
- Position is 0.80 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) with 7.75 hours per day, totaling 2015 annual base hours.
- Salary scale ranges from $42.985 to $52.732 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
- Anticipated start date is August 3, 2026.
- Applicants are required to undergo a satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks prior to employment commencement, at their own cost.
