Overview

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an inspiring leader to serve as Head of Therapies within their Divisional Leadership Team during a time of transformation and innovation. This role is ideal for a compassionate and values-focused Allied Health Professional leader who is eager to influence the strategic vision and promote the essential contributions of the Allied Health Professional workforce.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead professionally, operationally, and strategically across a wide range of therapy services including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Speech and Language Therapy, Podiatry, and Surgical Appliances. Working collaboratively with clinical and operational teams, the role focuses on advancing patient-centered, safe, effective, responsive, and sustainable therapy services. The Head of Therapies will also steer service improvements, transformation, and workforce development initiatives, supporting integrated care models such as Discharge to Assess, Virtual Wards, admission avoidance, reablement, and enhanced discharge pathways to ensure smooth patient care delivered timely and appropriately.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Current professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Postgraduate management and leadership education; ideally master’s degree level or equivalent senior experience.
  • Substantial experience in the acute sector with at least four years at Band 8 or equivalent senior leadership level.
  • Demonstrated expertise in change management, innovation, budget oversight, service planning, and utilizing financial, workforce, and performance data to guide decisions.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills, capable of managing complex discussions effectively.
  • Visible, compassionate leadership qualities with an ability to build teams, delegate, empower, and support multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Sound knowledge of clinical and corporate governance, risk management, and awareness of current therapy priorities impacting patient care.
  • Desirable experience includes working in community settings.

Additional Information

The role involves participation in the On-Call Manager rota and requires the ability to travel independently between Trust sites.
