Role overview

We are seeking a Head of Product for a U.S.-based remote opportunity with a partner company. This is a senior, high-impact leadership position at the crossroads of civic technology, AI, and large-scale consumer product development. The mission is to shape a platform that encourages stronger democratic participation and helps surface cross-partisan agreement at scale.

The role combines the challenge of building a product from the ground up with the responsibility of growing it for millions of users in a complex, multi-stakeholder setting. You will turn a bold civic mission into a product experience that feels simple, trustworthy, and engaging. A major part of the job is creating an AI-native product organization that uses modern tools to speed up learning, shipping, and iteration. You will work closely with engineering, design, and research to ensure the product is both technically scalable and deeply centered on user needs. The environment is fast-paced, mission-oriented, and expects urgency, sharp thinking, and strong ownership.

Key accountabilities

• Lead the full product vision and strategy, converting a complicated civic and AI system into a focused roadmap that emphasizes impact and clarity. Decide what belongs in the product and what does not, while making sure the sequence of work supports both user value and policy outcomes.
• Own the creation of an early-stage product experience, including onboarding, participation journeys, deliberation mechanics, and the path from user insights to actionable policy signals for decision-makers.
• Develop and expand an AI-first product organization by weaving AI into discovery, design, experimentation, and delivery processes across the team.
• Design and roll out a strong product measurement approach with success metrics, feedback mechanisms, and data-informed decision-making to guide iteration and investment.
• Set product development standards and help shape the team culture around speed, craft, intellectual honesty, and deep user focus.
• Coordinate closely across engineering, design, data, and external stakeholders in politically and socially sensitive settings.

Requirements

You should bring at least 10 years of product management experience in consumer-facing, product-led organizations, with a strong history of leading zero-to-one initiatives and scaling products to large audiences. The role calls for a mix of strategic thinking, execution strength, and comfort with ambiguity in high-stakes environments.

• Experience creating product direction from the ground up, launching MVPs, and iterating until product-market fit is achieved at scale.
• Strong product judgment and design sense, supported by a portfolio of shipped work that shows careful decision-making and attention to user experience details.
• Proven ability to lead and grow product teams while maintaining high standards for delivery and culture.
• Practical familiarity with AI-driven product development, including the use of modern AI tools to speed up thinking, prototyping, and execution.
• Systems-level thinking across technology, user behavior, and external constraints, with the ability to anticipate second- and third-order effects.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, especially in politically sensitive or multi-stakeholder environments.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to align both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Base salary of $330,000 USD per year.
