Job description
About Supa Health
Supa Health is revolutionizing the traditionally cumbersome and error-prone process of paying for therapy services. Current practices involve manual, labor-intensive efforts like eligibility verification, prior authorizations, and claims processing which lead to patient confusion, delayed payments, and clinician dissatisfaction. Supa Health is developing an intelligent system featuring an AI scribe, receptionist, and agentic back office to automate benefits verification, intake, prior authorization, and claims management. This system continuously learns from interactions, making healthcare billing more efficient and transparent.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire product function, defining the product vision, strategy, and execution practices that shape Supa Health's future.
- Establish strong direct relationships with customers, guiding them through onboarding and ongoing product engagement, addressing needs and collecting feedback.
- Collaborate closely with operations teams handling agent workforces, observe roadblocks, and integrate insights into the product roadmap for continuous improvement.
- Create and maintain clear product requirements documents (PRDs), defining scope, milestones, and success criteria, ensuring engineering teams fully understand deliverables.
- Lead project execution by dividing large features into manageable releases, tracking progress proactively, identifying risks, and communicating updates effectively.
- Design and manage onboarding and rollout strategies for new clinics, features, and agent capabilities to ensure smooth adoption and scalability.
- Act as the critical feedback loop between customers, operators, and engineering teams, ensuring that all signals inform product enhancements.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrate a deep customer focus with hands-on experience understanding customer workflows and pain points.
- Excel in communication, capable of leading diverse meetings and maintaining alignment among clinicians, engineers, and executives.
- Strong ownership of product initiatives from concept through launch and adoption, with proactive risk management and transparent status reporting.
- Ability to define product direction in partnership with engineering leadership, balancing scope and prioritization to optimize build strategies.
- Work efficiently by eliminating unnecessary tasks, making quick decisions, and embracing iterative learning without attachment to being perfect.
- Adapt to a broad range of responsibilities, from customer success to documentation, demonstrating flexibility as needed week-to-week.
- Possess technical understanding sufficient to collaborate with engineers on AI agents, large language models, and system capabilities, enabling scoped planning without vague assumptions.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of five years in product management with significant experience owning major product areas or surfaces from inception to growth. Proven success engaging closely with customers, delivering meaningful releases, and producing valued documentation that engineering trusts. Experience building and scaling products from ground zero to market-ready solutions is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in healthcare, revenue cycle management, or vertical SaaS is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience working at early-stage startups, comfortable wearing multiple hats and establishing foundational product practices.
- Familiarity with agentic AI or LLM-driven products where the AI system learns and adapts over time, managing user trust effectively.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary ranging from $180,000 to $240,000 annually, plus substantial founding team equity equitable to seniority and role scope.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
- 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching contributions.
- Company-sponsored meals including lunch, dinner, and snacks.
- Commuter benefits for employees working on-site in the Bay Area, although remote or hybrid working arrangements will be considered for exceptional candidates.
Hiring Process
- Initial 30-minute interview with the CTO to discuss fit, company goals, and compensation.
- 60-minute product-focused conversation reviewing candidate's previous product work and collaborative evaluation of Supa Health's product.
- Paid work trial lasting 2 to 5 days to engage with real tasks such as customer interaction, scoping, and operational observation.
- Final decision made based on trial feedback followed by an offer or candid feedback if unsuccessful.
Additional Information
- The role demands direct customer interaction; product management through documents or rituals without customer engagement is not suitable.
- This is a high-intensity founding team role, not suited for a standard 9-to-5 schedule or those requiring extensive data teams.
- The team is currently small, so this position is not a people management role at this time.
