  • Lead child safeguarding practices and related controls.
  • Ensure services and programs delivered at venues are safe, high quality, and fit for purpose.
  • Advance the commercial use of assets managed by the department.
  • Provide leadership for purpose-built sport and active recreation facilities, venues, and precincts.
  • Align programs and services with government priorities and community expectations.
  • Advise and support the Deputy Director-General at a high level, including representing the department at state and national forums.
  • Identify and build new revenue opportunities, partnerships, and commercial arrangements.
  • Balance service quality, safety, business growth, and development opportunities.
  • Implement child safeguarding strategies in line with the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 and the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000.
  • Manage venue and precinct operations within budget and in accordance with governance, accountability, and administrative standards.
  • Help foster a workplace culture grounded in the department’s values and behaviours, with an emphasis on safety, health, diversity, respect, and inclusion.
