Overview
The Ghoman Group is looking for a seasoned Hotel General Manager to lead operations at its Marriott-branded hotel located in Carmel, Indiana. This role requires extensive leadership experience within Marriott properties and a strong background in driving financial results, guest service excellence, and operational management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee comprehensive hotel operations aligning with corporate standards and objectives.
- Lead regular departmental meetings and ensure collaboration with department heads.
- Ensure strict adherence to hotel standard operating procedures, policies, and quality standards.
- Direct property initiatives, including renovations, capital improvements, and service enhancement projects.
- Manage guest relations actively, handling complaints and service recovery processes effectively.
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets, marketing plans, and sales strategies.
- Optimize profitability while maintaining superior guest satisfaction and experience.
- Monitor operational reports daily and implement performance improvement strategies.
- Analyze profit and loss statements and make informed operational decisions using data insights.
- Maintain accurate monthly forecasts for Rooms, Food & Beverage, and administrative departments.
- Maximize revenue through pricing strategies, revenue management, and yield management techniques.
- Prepare and present monthly financial and operational performance reports to ownership and stakeholders.
- Oversee procurement processes, including supplies, equipment, and vendor contracts.
- Participate in recruiting, hiring, and developing key management personnel and mentoring leadership teams.
- Coordinate day-to-day operational functions with department leads to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Take accountability for departmental results and overall guest satisfaction metrics.
- Lead strategic planning efforts and long-term business growth initiatives.
- Ensure successful completion of both internal and external audits.
- Support corporate sales, client relations, and business development, including extended-stay sales initiatives as needed.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable legal, safety, health, and fire regulations.
- Safeguard quality standards across all hotel departments to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Advanced hospitality certifications are advantageous.
- 15 to 20 years of progressive hospitality industry experience.
- 5 to 10 years serving as a Hotel General Manager or Assistant General Manager.
- Mandatory prior management experience within Marriott hotels, including Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites, Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, or similar Marriott brands.
- Proven track record managing hotel operations, financial performance, revenue management, and guest satisfaction initiatives.
- Experience in hotel openings, repositionings, or successful property management is preferred.
