Job description
Job Overview
As a Fleet Officer, you will be instrumental in supporting the execution of transportation policies and processes. Your role involves planning and coordinating the movement of raw materials to the plant as well as ensuring cement products are delivered efficiently to distribution centers and customer retail outlets.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily activities of company truck drivers, including loading, dispatch, and delivery operations.
- Guarantee availability and optimal use of company vehicles by tracking, monitoring, and controlling truck movements.
- Ensure cement deliveries to depots and customers are timely, accurate, and conducted safely.
- Create and implement maintenance and servicing schedules for the fleet of trucks.
- Supervise and evaluate the quality and timeliness of maintenance activities for the equipment.
- Promote a safe and healthy working environment by adhering to and enforcing established protocols and procedures.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on truck status to management.
- Ensure the recovery of AGO/CNG fuel during short-distance travel.
- Report all accidents or incidents promptly and effectively.
- Execute additional tasks as directed by the Senior Transport Manager.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- At least two years of proven experience in logistics management.
- Capable of adapting swiftly to evolving procedures, new technologies, and varying work environments.
- Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with computerized inventory management systems.
