Job description

Job Overview

As an HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe workplace free from hazards, ensuring adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guarantee company compliance with all laws and regulations concerning fire prevention and environmental protection.
  • Support health, safety, and environmental management by assisting with compliance reviews, risk assessments, and other safety evaluations.
  • Offer expert advice and assistance on HSE matters to facility management at the DSR site.
  • Develop fire prevention strategies and protection plans, raise safety awareness, and train employees on emergency response protocols.
  • Enforce full compliance with company HSE policies and procedures across all DSR personnel.
  • Enhance education and awareness related to the company management system's use.
  • Document and report all accident occurrences and near misses thoroughly.
  • Engage in detailed investigations of incidents, including root cause analyses.
  • Participate in company audits, assessments, and ensure contractors meet HSE standards.
  • Manage occupational health hazards effectively and organize relevant training on OH&S and environmental topics.
  • Maintain and update the DSR HSE Dashboard and prepare weekly occupational health and safety reports.
  • Monitor compliance regarding HSE orientations, inductions, and perform regular workplace inspections.
  • Coordinate and communicate with statutory bodies responsible for fire prevention, protection, regulatory compliance, and customers.
  • Maintain and disseminate safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to employees.
  • Ensure implementation of international management standards including ISO OMS, FSMS, FSSC, OHSAS, EMS, and other systems.
  • Undertake additional related tasks as assigned by management.

Experience and Competencies

  • Minimum of five years' experience in a similar health, safety, and environment role.
  • Solid working knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
  • In-depth understanding of occupational health, safety, environment, and fire prevention laws and good practices.
  • Holder of the International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH) or equivalent.
  • Familiar with relevant statutory agencies responsible for fire safety and protection.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Possession of any other relevant valid competency certifications is advantageous.
