Job Overview
The Weighbridge Officer is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the weighbridge facility, ensuring precise weighing of trucks and accurate recording of inventory and logistical data. This role involves managing vehicle flow on-site, issuing weight tickets, and identifying any discrepancies or safety concerns. The officer also compiles reports and enforces adherence to site-specific rules and safety protocols.
Primary Responsibilities
- Precisely measure vehicle weights including gross, tare, and net weights, and input this data into electronic software systems.
- Issue official weight tickets, confirm waybills, and handle delivery order processing.
- Direct drivers to correctly position vehicles and oversee traffic movement within the site.
- Ensure compliance with legal load limits, report any variances, and strictly follow health and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess at least an HND or B.Sc. degree in Social Science or Engineering-related fields.
- Holding additional professional certifications in relevant areas is advantageous.
- At least three years of practical experience managing weighbridge operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word applications.
