Job description
Overview
Intel is seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to provide expert legal advice on employment and labor law across Ireland and Europe. This attorney role involves navigating complex multi-jurisdictional labor issues, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, and supporting manufacturing, research, and commercial operations through pragmatic and risk-aware legal counsel. The position is located at Intel's Leixlip campus and reports to the Director of International Employment Legal within the regional legal team.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary legal advisor on Irish employment law for Intel’s operations, advising on working time, leave regulations, equality, disciplinary procedures, redundancies, union relations, and ensuring all workforce actions are legally compliant and documented.
- Provide cross-border legal support on employment matters throughout Europe, including employee relations, reorganizations, works council engagements, policy harmonization, and coordination with external counsel.
- Oversee sensitive employee relations issues such as harassment investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, and whistleblowing, working closely with HR and Employee Relations teams to maintain fairness and legal defensibility.
- Lead and advise on workforce restructuring, site reorganizations, redundancies, and transfers of undertakings, ensuring compliance with consultation and employee protection laws across jurisdictions.
- Manage employment-related disputes, including labor claims and mediations, instruct external counsel, and proactively identify legal risks to reduce litigation exposure.
- Advise on and help develop employment policies aligned with Irish and European legal standards, support Intel’s Code of Conduct and compliance efforts, and deliver targeted legal training to HR and business leaders.
- Collaborate with business and operational leaders on workforce compliance, employment implications for government initiatives, and provide solution-oriented legal advice aligned with business priorities.
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, build strong internal partnerships, and contribute to regional legal initiatives for process improvements and capability development.
Qualifications
- Law degree and qualification to practice as a Solicitor in Ireland or equivalent EU qualification (Israeli attorney qualification considered).
- 6 to 8+ years of post-qualification experience with a strong employment and labor law focus.
- Proficiency in Hebrew language is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Deep knowledge of Irish employment law, European labor frameworks, and cross-border workforce management.
- Experience handling workplace investigations, disciplinary procedures, and employment litigation.
- Familiarity with works councils, collective consultation, and restructuring processes in Europe.
- Exposure to multinational, manufacturing, or technology sectors is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in an additional European language is a plus.
Additional Information
- This is a full-time, on-site role based in Leixlip, County Kildare, Ireland.
- Compensation ranges from €73,600 to €142,500 annually, depending on experience and qualifications, with potential for further benefits and pay components.
- Intel is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
