About the Role

We are seeking an Email Marketing Manager based in Canada to lead lifecycle marketing initiatives for a rapidly expanding consumer brand. This role blends strategic planning, creative storytelling, and data analysis to build meaningful customer connections and increase long-term value through email, SMS, subscription services, and retention campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and execution of email and SMS marketing strategies, including campaign scheduling, automated workflows, and customer communications throughout their journey.
  • Design and optimize personalized customer journeys covering stages such as welcome, browse abandonment, cart abandonment, post-purchase, cross-sell, upsell, subscription, winback, and re-engagement.
  • Manage SMS campaigns and automation to enhance engagement and drive conversions.
  • Develop strategies focused on boosting repeat purchases, encouraging subscriptions, maximizing customer lifetime value, and strengthening loyalty.
  • Utilize advanced customer segmentation and personalization techniques based on behaviors and engagement metrics.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to craft compelling email and SMS content that educates and motivates customers.
  • Implement and oversee a testing roadmap for subject lines, messaging, discounts, timing, segmentation, personalized content, creative assets, landing pages, and product recommendations.
  • Analyze customer lifecycle performance, retention data, and behaviors to uncover areas for improvement.
  • Build and maintain reporting dashboards to translate data into actionable insights for marketing and customer experience enhancements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Growth Marketing, Creative, Customer Experience, Product, CRO, and leadership to maintain consistent and impactful customer interactions.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years practical experience in lifecycle, email, or retention marketing.
  • Proficient in using Klaviyo for campaign management, segmentation, and automation.
  • Experience with SMS marketing, familiarity with Postscript is advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of lifecycle marketing, segmentation, personalization, and effective retention tactics.
  • Proven expertise designing and refining automated marketing workflows.
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting retention metrics and customer data.
  • Skilled in conducting and evaluating A/B tests to enhance campaign results.
  • Capacity to balance high-level strategy with hands-on campaign management.
  • Excellent copywriting ability grounded in consumer psychology principles.
  • Preferred experience in direct-to-consumer eCommerce, health, wellness, supplements, beauty, or related consumer goods sectors.
  • Familiarity with subscription models, cohort analysis, attribution methods, and retention reporting is a plus.
  • Comfortable utilizing AI tools to increase marketing efficiency and improve creative processes.
