Overview
This opportunity is hosted on behalf of a partner organization seeking experienced online teachers based in Ireland. The role involves delivering high-quality, personalized one-on-one education to secondary students pursuing IAS Economics, primarily aligned with Cambridge curricula. Teaching will take place in a fully virtual environment, supporting students globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging and tailored one-on-one lessons in IAS Economics, following Cambridge curriculum standards.
- Customize teaching strategies, materials, and digital resources to accommodate individual student learning preferences and goals.
- Regularly evaluate student progress, provide constructive feedback, and revise lesson plans accordingly to optimize learning outcomes.
- Design structured course schedules, detailed lesson plans, homework tasks, tests, and examination content.
- Lead interactive sessions using virtual teaching platforms, while maintaining a positive, supportive, and professional virtual classroom environment.
- Organize and manage course materials, assignments, and assessments within online learning management systems for efficient delivery.
- Assist in developing educational resources aimed at enriching student learning experiences.
- Maintain availability during Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), primarily between 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM on weekdays, delivering several hour-long sessions each week.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 5 years of formal classroom teaching experience at secondary school levels (Forms 7-13); tutoring experience alone does not qualify.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Economics or a closely related academic field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Cambridge, Edexcel, or A-Level Economics syllabi and exam criteria.
- Proficient communication skills, both spoken and written, with an ability to foster positive relationships with students and their families.
- Experienced in using digital teaching platforms and competent in delivering engaging online education.
- Strong skills in organization, lesson planning, and managing online classroom dynamics.
- Preferred credentials include formal teaching qualifications such as a teaching license, education degree, or postgraduate teaching certification.
- Previous experience teaching online is advantageous.
