About the Role
This role represents a leadership opportunity within a healthcare technology company based in the United States, focused on driving commercial enablement strategies that enhance sales productivity and accelerate team success. The Director of Sales Enablement will develop and implement scalable onboarding frameworks, competency models, and development programs to enable commercial teams to operate effectively and reach high performance.
Responsibilities
- Own the comprehensive commercial onboarding strategy, delivering consistent, scalable experiences from candidate offer acceptance through to field readiness.
- Create onboarding frameworks with milestones and accountability structures that reduce time-to-productivity.
- Design and maintain commercial capability models outlining competencies, role expectations, and career paths based on experience levels.
- Implement readiness assessments and performance standards to objectively gauge employee development and field preparedness.
- Lead transition programs facilitating the progression from onboarding completion to autonomous field execution.
- Develop coaching tools, development frameworks, and resources to expedite employee growth under frontline leaders.
- Establish feedback mechanisms with commercial teams to identify capability gaps and iteratively improve enablement initiatives.
- Analyze performance data, readiness metrics, and stakeholder input to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts across sales, marketing, clinical, product, and commercial functions to deliver unified learning experiences.
- Partner with sales leadership to design coaching frameworks, reinforce key behaviors, and enhance performance management.
- Champion cross-functional alignment and organizational change initiatives that elevate commercial effectiveness.
- Support enterprise-wide projects aimed at enhancing customer engagement, field execution, and sales outcomes.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees such as MBA are preferred.
- Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience in sales enablement, commercial excellence, organizational development, or related fields.
- Proven ability to design scalable onboarding and capability development programs.
- Experience in creating competency frameworks, readiness evaluation tools, and performance metrics.
- Solid understanding of field sales organizations, coaching practices, and talent development within commercial teams.
- Demonstrated success influencing senior leadership and driving cross-functional coordination.
- Experience leading organizational changes and enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and project leadership capabilities.
- Background working in regulated sectors such as medical devices, healthcare, or life sciences.
- Proven record of making impactful contributions quickly in dynamic, growth-focused environments.
- Familiarity with emerging medical technologies, particularly in disruptive healthcare solutions or heart failure treatments, is desirable.
- Experience in startups or rapidly scaling companies is an advantage.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%, including overnight trips by air and car.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, fulfill hospital credentialing requirements, and maintain reliable high-speed internet access.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base salary ranging between $195,000 and $225,000 for U.S.-based employees.
