Role Overview

The Regional Sales Director for Oncology, reporting to the National Sales Director, leads and develops a team of Oncology Key Account Managers (KAMs) across the Northeast/East Coast region. This leader drives the execution of commercial strategies within community oncology practices, hospitals, health systems, and other key accounts to achieve ambitious regional revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor a high-performing team of Oncology KAMs.
  • Set clear objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide continuous coaching and development opportunities.
  • Lead field coaching visits to assess and elevate sales execution and business outcomes.
  • Drive regional business plans aligning with national brand strategies to maximize market impact and customer engagement.
  • Utilize market insights, sales data, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and optimize account plans.
  • Champion leadership of priority oncology accounts, supporting strategies to enhance clinical adoption and patient access.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Sales Operations, and Commercial teams to ensure cohesive implementation of brand initiatives and resource allocation.
  • Manage regional budgets responsibly, overseeing promotional, educational, and commercial investments while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure all activities adhere strictly to company policies, industry codes, and federal/state regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees favored.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ pharmaceutical, biotech, or specialty healthcare sales experience.
  • Proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets within complex healthcare sectors.
  • Leadership experience preferably involving management, coaching, or training of sales professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of oncology sales, including product launches, hospital systems, and specialty pharmaceutical commercialization.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record and willingness to travel 50-70% including overnight stays.
  • Residency within the assigned region or readiness to relocate before starting.

Additional Information

This is a field leadership position involving frequent travel within the designated region, including overnight stays. The role demands a high degree of operational discipline and collaboration across different teams, aimed at driving impactful oncology market expansion and patient benefit.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary ranges from $180,400 to $225,500.
