Role Overview
The company seeks an adept Director of Marketing & New Business Development to spearhead its marketing leadership. This key position entails crafting and implementing the agency's yearly marketing strategy, managing brand integrity, overseeing broad marketing projects, and accelerating business acquisition efforts. Success hinges on a comprehensive grasp of integrated marketing communications to enhance brand presence and expand business.
Core Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute the annual marketing agenda for MassMedia.
- Maintain and evolve the MassMedia brand identity to ensure consistent messaging and differentiation in the market.
- Supervise agency-wide marketing initiatives, including website enhancements, content strategy, email campaigns, social media, public relations, thought leadership, executive visibility, award entries, speaking engagements, case studies, event marketing, and collaborations with brand partners.
- Lead and coordinate the marketing team and orchestrate the annual marketing calendar and campaigns.
- Evaluate marketing outcomes leveraging analytics and business insights, proposing enhancements as needed.
- Identify and capitalize on innovative marketing strategies to strengthen brand awareness.
- Design and implement the agency's new business development plan yearly.
- Source and vet potential clients aligned with MassMedia's growth vision.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified business opportunities.
- Research companies exhibiting growth, leadership transitions, acquisitions, or funding which signal marketing needs.
- Establish relationships with C-suite executives, marketing heads, and referral sources.
- Arrange and lead initial meetings with prospective clients.
- Represent the agency at professional gatherings such as networking events, conferences, trade groups, and community events.
- Collaborate with agency leadership on proposals, pitches, and RFP responses.
- Keep CRM data current and prepare business development reports.
- Achieve set goals for meetings, proposals, client acquisition, and revenue generation within stipulated timeframes.
- Manage the sales pipeline through all stages from lead generation to contract finalization.
- Organize discovery and qualification meetings.
- Plan meeting strategies and coordinate agendas.
- Direct teamwork for proposal and presentation development.
- Lead follow-up communications during the sales cycle.
- Monitor pipeline health including conversion rates and revenue forecasts.
- Report progress and metrics to executive leadership regularly.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related disciplines.
- At least seven years of advancing experience in marketing, brand leadership, business development, or agency management.
- Proven track record in crafting and winning RFP responses.
- Expertise in integrated marketing communications including advertising, PR, digital marketing, social media, media planning, creative content, and brand management.
- Success in brand building, demand generation, and supporting business expansion through integrated marketing tactics.
- Experience securing new business and fostering relationships with senior executives.
- Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong strategic, business judgment, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong commitment to follow-through.
- Comfortable representing the agency at professional and evening networking functions.

- Preferred experience includes working within integrated marketing agencies.
