Role Overview

The Director of IT acts as both the strategic visionary and hands-on technical leader of our IT department. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this role encompasses guiding technology vision alongside direct involvement in critical systems. Responsibilities include leading infrastructure projects like ERP and WMS implementations while managing a team of multiple IT specialists. This position oversees a unified technology ecosystem blending cloud, on-premise, and SaaS systems, ensuring smooth operations and continuous team skill development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and maintenance of a cohesive technology stack spanning cloud, on-premise, and SaaS platforms.
• Manage significant infrastructure initiatives such as ERP and Warehouse Management System implementations and upgrades.
• Oversee Microsoft 365 administration and drive migration from on-premise to cloud services like OneDrive and SharePoint.
• Ensure network security, data integrity, and disaster recovery plans are robust and effective.
• Continuously evaluate and improve IT systems identifying enhancements and closing gaps.
• Architect and govern AI integration (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) to support expansion while safeguarding data security.
• Manage technical infrastructure for direct-to-consumer e-commerce and professional B2B platforms integrating with core ERP, inventory, and fulfillment systems.
• Coordinate with external e-commerce partners to align platform upgrades, security updates, and business objectives.
• Consolidate customer and partner data models across multiple digital properties to reduce fragmentation and manual data reconciliation.
• Supervise integrations supporting Amazon Brand Store and authorized retailers ensuring seamless catalog, inventory, and order data flow.
• Collaborate with Legal and Marketing on brand protection and anti-diversion initiatives including monitoring unauthorized sellers.
• Maintain compliance with global regulations such as CCPA, GDPR, ADA across all digital storefronts.
• Ensure digital storefront scalability, uptime, and performance during peak sales periods like launches and promotions.
• Evaluate and adopt advanced commerce technologies including AI-driven recommendations, loyalty, and subscription systems to support growth.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary IT team, fostering a cooperative and growth-oriented culture with clear KPIs and performance management.
• Act as the organization’s principal technology expert, providing hands-on troubleshooting for critical issues as needed.
• Develop and manage IT budgets, strategies, and roadmaps aligned with short- and long-term business goals, collaborating across departments.
• Oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and procurement activities.
• Remain abreast of technological trends to propose innovative, efficient, and revenue-enhancing IT solutions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required; master’s degree or certifications such as PMP, ITIL, CISSP preferred.
• At least 10 years of IT experience including minimum 5 years in leadership roles managing diverse teams.
• Proven capability as lead architect of enterprise technology stacks ensuring system integration and synergy.
• Hands-on leadership in infrastructure/platform transformations including ERP and WMS projects.
• Strong technical expertise in systems administration, database management, platform and network engineering, and security.
• Experience managing e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Magento) and their ERP/order system integrations.
• Competence in managing distributed web platforms and simplifying complex multi-vendor ecosystems.
• Background working with e-commerce development agencies and platform vendors.
• Knowledge of brand-protection tools, MAP enforcement, and marketplace monitoring is advantageous.
• Experience with telecommunications, databases, and storage infrastructure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and adept with Windows and Mac operating systems.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, analytical, and management skills.

Compensation: Annual base salary range from 145000 to 155000 USD, with actual pay based on experience and qualifications, plus eligibility for discretionary bonuses.
