About Manatee and Role Overview
Manatee is a virtual, family-centered clinic dedicated to supporting the entire family unit so that every child can flourish. The Director of Care will establish the framework, standards, and scalable programs required to extend access to outstanding mental health services for all families in need.
This leadership position directs the clinical team, designs superior care programs, and implements scalable systems that underpin the organization's growth across multiple states. Positioned at the nexus of clinical leadership, operational efficiency, and strategy, the Director of Care will translate Manatee's clinical vision into a robust, scalable operating model. Reporting to the CEO and collaborating closely with Clinical Operations and People Operations teams, this role is a key member of the leadership cohort.
Principal Responsibilities
- Direct clinical care programs ensuring high standards and fidelity to a holistic, family-focused care model integrating child therapy, parental counseling, and family support.
- Optimize workflows and reduce administrative overhead across functions.
- Develop and expand clinical programs and service lines to scale effectively.
- Maintain accountability for clinical quality indicators including compliance, safety, and performance standards.
- Lead, mentor, and manage Clinical Supervisors and therapist teams, including oversight of a 1099 provider network.
- Establish performance expectations, provide feedback, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with recruitment and supervisors on hiring and growth pathways.
- Manage crisis and safety protocols such as suicide risk assessments, safety planning, and mandated reporting across all operating regions.
- Oversee clinical quality assurance processes including incident reviews and legal escalation procedures.
- Serve as the clinical liaison for legal cases, subpoenas, and regulatory investigations partnering with external counsel.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of an active clinical license (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, PsyD, or equivalent); multi-state licensure is advantageous.
- 7 to 10+ years of clinical experience, with at least 3 to 5 years in leadership and operations roles.
- Proven track record of building or scaling clinical teams in dynamic, growth-oriented environments.
- Experience delivering virtual mental health care.
- Preferred background in pediatrics.
- Ability to operate decisively in ambiguous situations and independently establish operational protocols.
