Role Overview

The Director of IT acts as both the strategic visionary and operational leader, accountable for shaping and executing the company’s technology vision. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this hands-on role involves managing critical systems, overseeing infrastructure projects, and mentoring a diverse IT team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain an integrated technology ecosystem combining cloud, on-premise, and SaaS platforms.
  • Lead major projects such as ERP and Warehouse Management System implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 ecosystem and steer migration efforts from on-prem servers to cloud platforms like OneDrive and SharePoint.
  • Ensure network security, data integrity, and effective disaster recovery planning.
  • Continuously assess IT systems to identify improvements.
  • Plan and govern AI technology use, including tools like OpenAI and Anthropic, maintaining data security.
  • Direct the architecture and reliability of e-commerce platforms, ensuring seamless integration with ERP and fulfillment systems.
  • Oversee relationships with e-commerce vendors and development agencies, aligning platform upgrades and security measures with business objectives.
  • Work towards unifying customer and partner data across multiple digital properties to reduce fragmentation and manual data reconciliation.
  • Manage systems for Amazon Brand Store and other marketplace channels, ensuring accurate catalog and order data flow.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Marketing on brand protection and anti-diversion measures against unauthorized sellers.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and accessibility regulations including CCPA, GDPR, and ADA.
  • Guarantee platform uptime and performance during high-traffic events like product launches and promotions.
  • Integrate commerce and marketing technologies, including personalization, AI recommendations, loyalty, and subscription tools.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary IT team, emphasizing hands-on coaching and technical skill enhancement.
  • Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented culture with clear performance goals and monitoring.
  • Act as the expert technologist, providing direct support during critical issues.
  • Develop and manage IT strategies, roadmaps, budgets, and vendor partnerships aligned with corporate goals.
  • Work cross-functionally to tailor technology solutions to business divisions.
  • Continuously identify innovative technologies to improve products, services, and operational efficiencies.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline; master’s degree and certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or CISSP are highly regarded.
  • At least 10 years in IT with minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing diverse IT teams.
  • Proven track record as lead architect of enterprise technology stacks integrating multiple systems.
  • Experience managing infrastructure transformations including ERP and WMS deployments.
  • Strong expertise in systems administration, database management, platform and network engineering, and security.
  • Hands-on experience with e-commerce technologies like Shopify and Magento integrated with ERP and order management.
  • Capability to manage complex, distributed web ecosystems and vendor relationships.
  • Knowledge of brand protection, marketplace monitoring tools, and MAP enforcement practices is advantageous.
  • Background in telecommunications and storage systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Windows and Mac systems.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related applications.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected base salary ranges from $145,000 to $155,000 annually, with final pay determined by experience and qualifications. Additional bonuses or compensation forms may apply. Employees receive comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid leave, holidays, and access to a 401(k) savings plan based on eligibility.
