Position Summary

The Director of Finance and Accounting Operations plays a pivotal role overseeing all financial aspects of the organization including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance efforts. This leadership position provides strategic guidance, ensures financial data accuracy, and supports senior management decisions aimed at growth and operational effectiveness.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities aligned with corporate goals.
  • Offer strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board through quarterly presentations.
  • Supervise all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and asset management.
  • Ensure prompt and precise preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements compliant with GAAP or IFRS standards.
  • Implement and uphold strong internal controls safeguarding assets and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies, coordinating audits and compliance reviews.
  • Oversee cash flow management, liquidity monitoring, banking relationships, financing activities, and optimization of working capital and investments.
  • Lead and cultivate a high-performing finance and accounting team fostering accountability and ongoing professional growth.
  • Continuously assess and enhance financial systems, processes, and reporting mechanisms, leveraging automation and technology to improve efficiency.
  • Handle daily treasury functions including cash flow oversight, bank balance monitoring, fund transfers, and compliance with banking and loan agreements.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, month-end closing, and coordination with internal teams for accurate records.
  • Monitor compliance with bond and equity covenants, prepare supporting documentation, and liaise with external parties as necessary.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as required to support company growth and change.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Must hold an active CPA license.
  • At least 10 years of advancing experience in accounting and finance roles, including leadership positions.
  • Comprehensive expertise in financial reporting, compliance, multi-state sales tax regulations, and internal control frameworks.
  • Previous experience in smaller firms within a SaaS environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial software such as Acumatica and PN3.

  • Strong strategic thinking and financial analysis capabilities.
  • Effective leadership and team management proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentations.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Working Conditions and Requirements

  • This is a full-time remote position; candidates must have a functional home office.
  • Preference given to applicants located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old and comfortable working with adult content.

Reporting Structure

This role reports directly to the Revenue Officer.

  • Annual salary range from $200,000 to $225,000, depending on experience.
