Job description
Position Overview
Take a leading role in transforming Queensland's tourism sector by spearheading investment initiatives that foster private sector growth in accommodations, attractions, eco-tourism, and visitor facilities. As Director of Investment Attraction, you will strategically collaborate across government entities, industry partners, and international investors to develop investment-ready projects, advocate for policy improvements, and establish Queensland as a premier destination for tourism investment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the state's agenda for attracting and facilitating tourism investment.
- Discover and advance opportunities including accommodations, attractions, eco-tourism, cultural tourism, and infrastructure to enhance visitor access.
- Forge and nurture partnerships with investors, developers, operators, and government bodies.
- Provide strategic guidance, assist with business cases, and help proponents prepare for investment.
- Collaborate with Trade and Investment Queensland alongside key stakeholders to raise Queensland’s international investment profile.
- Design persuasive investment proposals, prospectuses, and marketing campaigns.
- Represent the department at industry events, investment missions, and government collaborations.
- Offer expert counsel to senior leadership, ministers, and decision-makers.
Candidate Profile
- Proven leadership and commercial acumen in investment attraction, property development, infrastructure, economic development, or related arenas.
- Demonstrated success in engaging investors and managing multifaceted investment projects.
- Strong capabilities in strategy development, analysis, and problem resolution.
- Ability to influence diverse stakeholders including government, industry, and executive teams.
- Insight into tourism trends, infrastructure, and economic development forces.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
