About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to contribute to a significant government initiative. This position is pivotal in crafting and refining a Strategic and Strategic Business Case (SSBC) by ensuring rigorous analysis, well-developed options, and evidence-based recommendations aligned with strategic investments. This opportunity suits a Business Analyst knowledgeable in the New Zealand Treasury Better Business Case (BBC) framework, who thrives in tackling complex organizational challenges and collaborating with senior leaders in large entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and development of Strategic and Strategic Business Cases (SSBCs).
- Facilitate the creation of options and perform trade-off analyses to inform decisions.
- Collect, analyze, and thoroughly document detailed and complex business requirements.
- Translate overarching enterprise challenges into structured analyses and actionable recommendations.
- Compile robust evidence to underpin investment and funding choices.
- Develop high-quality business case documentation as well as reports for executive leadership.
- Engage senior stakeholders to achieve alignment and support for decision-making processes.
- Integrate considerations across people, processes, technology, financial aspects, and risks within business case development.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive experience crafting complex business cases including SSBCs and BBCs.
- In-depth knowledge of the New Zealand Treasury Better Business Case framework.
- Proven ability to develop options and conduct trade-off analyses.
- Strong expertise in business analysis and requirements gathering.
- Experience navigating cross-domain challenges across people, processes, and technology.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
- Exceptional written communication, capable of producing executive-level and Cabinet reports.
- Background in financial, economic, or risk analysis to support investment decision-making.
- Must possess, or be able to immediately obtain, a New Zealand Government security clearance.
