Director - Far North Queensland Region, Education Case Management

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to oversee Education Case Management services in the Far North Queensland region, based at our Cairns office. The Director will guide a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering targeted support that enhances engagement and re-engagement among children and young people. This role emphasizes collaboration with schools, government entities, families, and community groups to implement evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches supporting vulnerable students.

This role is a fixed-term appointment until April 12, 2027, subject to change.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management for regional Education Case Management teams and services to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Support the Executive Director in planning and operational delivery of initiatives that improve engagement and re-engagement outcomes for youth.
• Design and oversee systems that assess needs, coordinate support triage, and deliver integrated responses for vulnerable student populations.
• Engage collaboratively with schools, families, government agencies, and community groups to address barriers to educational engagement.
• Analyze regional data, identify trends and emerging issues to support evidence-driven decision-making and enhance service quality.
• Lead place-based and multi-agency strategies tailored to vulnerable children and youth, including those at risk of disengagement.
• Provide authoritative advice, prepare briefings, and generate reports on complex or sensitive topics.
• Ensure delivery of trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and student-centered case management practices.
• Oversee governance, risk management, and resource distribution aligned with regional priorities.
• Promote a culture valuing accountability, inclusion, collaboration, and continuous improvement across teams and partnerships.
