Job description

Role overview

BCP Council is looking for a Corporate Director for Children's Services to bring energetic, values-driven leadership across education, SEND, children's social care, and commissioning. The post is based in Bournemouth and is offered on a permanent, full-time, on-site basis.

Key responsibilities

  • Set the strategic direction, performance priorities, and overall vision for the service area, while helping deliver the Council’s wider strategy.
  • Drive stronger financial stewardship and keep progress moving in SEND services.
  • Lead the organisation through increasing demand for children’s services and help shape the next stage of its development.
  • Build effective collaboration, partnership working, and influence across the Council and with external partners.
