Role Summary

A well-established healthcare provider in Dubai is growing its emergency and acute care services and is looking for a Consultant or Specialist in Emergency Medicine to join its multidisciplinary team. The position is centered on delivering prompt, high-quality emergency treatment in a modern hospital that serves patients from many different countries.

The physician will work in a fast-moving clinical environment with access to advanced diagnostics, specialist support, intensive care services, and internationally recognized treatment protocols.

Job Details

  • Position: Consultant / Specialist Emergency Medicine
  • Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
  • Setting: Multispecialty hospital emergency department
  • Required Experience: At least 3 years after specialist or board certification
  • Care Model: Acute care delivery in a fully equipped emergency department with ICU, trauma support, and advanced diagnostics available

What the Role Involves

The selected doctor will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with urgent illnesses and injuries, while maintaining safe, efficient, and evidence-based emergency care standards.

Accepted Qualifications

Applicants with any of the following recognized specialist credentials may be considered:

  • American Board of Emergency Medicine
  • UK CCT, FRCEM, or MRCEM
  • European Board Certification
  • Royal College Certification from Canada
  • Australian Fellowship (FACEM)
  • Arab Board
  • MD, DNB, FNB, DrNB, FCPS, or an equivalent recognized specialist qualification

Candidates must also be eligible for a DHA, DOH, or MOH license. Support and guidance for licensing may be offered where relevant.

Key Responsibilities

The consultant/specialist will be expected to handle a broad range of emergency medicine duties, including rapid evaluation of acute medical, surgical, and trauma cases, as well as critical stabilization work.

  • Assess and manage patients arriving with urgent medical, surgical, and traumatic conditions.
  • Stabilize life-threatening situations involving cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and trauma-related emergencies.
  • Carry out emergency procedures such as airway support, intubation, resuscitation, wound care, fracture stabilization, and procedural sedation.
  • Take part in advanced life support and resuscitation, including cardiac arrest and trauma response.
  • Use point-of-care tests, imaging, and laboratory results to make fast clinical decisions.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and specialist consultants on admission, referral, or discharge planning.
  • Keep detailed clinical notes and electronic medical records aligned with institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow evidence-based emergency care pathways and patient safety standards.
  • Contribute to audits, quality improvement work, and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Help maintain smooth patient flow and effective triage to improve department performance and outcomes.
  • Comply with UAE healthcare laws, ethical practice expectations, and hospital policies.
