Job description
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and empathetic Consultant Physician specializing in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine to join a premier healthcare institution in Abu Dhabi. The professional will deliver comprehensive and evidence-based treatment for infants, children, and adolescents, emphasizing preventive care, developmental evaluation, chronic condition management, and psychosocial health.
Key Duties
- Evaluate and treat a wide spectrum of pediatric and adolescent conditions, including acute illnesses, chronic diseases, developmental challenges, and behavioral issues.
- Administer preventive health services such as immunizations, growth and developmental screenings, and health monitoring.
- Address adolescent-specific issues like mental health disorders, eating disorders, lifestyle diseases, and reproductive health education.
- Formulate personalized care strategies focusing on patients' physical, emotional, and social health.
- Work collaboratively with pediatric subspecialists, mental health professionals, nutritionists, and other healthcare team members.
- Provide counseling to families, educate patients, and offer guidance on adolescent health and development.
- Encourage health awareness, disease prevention, and healthy living habits among patients and families.
- Ensure meticulous and prompt medical documentation adhering to Department of Health (DOH) and hospital standards.
- Engage in clinical audits, quality improvement projects, and pursue ongoing medical education.
- Contribute to academic instruction and the training of junior medical personnel as applicable.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with a specialization in Pediatrics or Adolescent Medicine.
- Fellowship or Board Certification in Pediatrics or related subspecialty.
- Possession of a DOH License or eligibility letter is preferred.
- At least five years of consultant-level experience in Pediatrics or Adolescent Medicine.
- Proficiency in adolescent healthcare, preventive medicine, and developmental pediatrics.
- Strong communication, counseling, and interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Dedication to providing patient-focused, evidence-based medical care.
